MSN Health Care Leadership and Administration Curriculum

The online MSN in health care administration program blends theoretical coursework with experiential learning opportunities. Students graduate as health care leaders who can respond to the clinical, organizational and fiscal challenges of our dynamic health care system.

Admission to UNC School of Nursing remains selective in order to ensure top-quality nursing outcomes. Each applicant undergoes a holistic assessment. Meeting the minimum requirements does not ensure admission.

Admissions Requirements: 

  • License to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina
  • Bachelor’s of nursing, with a GPA of at least 2.75
  • At least one year of paid work experience as a registered nurse
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Professional statement

The Online Learning Experience

The online format allows you to complete asynchronous and synchronous coursework throughout the program.

You will complete tailored clinical experiences consisting of placement with preceptors in selected practice sites to foster role integration. You’ll also attend in-person immersions where you’ll connect with faculty, peers and health care leaders. In-person sessions, ranging from one to five days, support program objectives and your growth toward your professional goals.
