Estimated tuition costs for the 54-credit online Ed.D. in Organizational Learning and Leadership program (as of the July 2024 – June 2025 academic year) are as follows:
North Carolina residents: $586.23 per credit hour
All other students: $1,602.45 per credit hour
Distance program student fee: $28.71 per credit
Please note the cost of tuition does not include out-of-pocket expenses such as books, additional course materials, immersions, or other fees. While there are no immersion fees, students are still responsible for travel costs, as well as some food and miscellaneous charges throughout the immersion experience.
Admitted students will be required to submit a $250 nonrefundable deposit to reserve a place in the program. Enrollment deposits will be applied as a credit toward the first term’s tuition once the student enrolls in the program.
Tuition and fees are subject to change each academic year, as approved by the UNC System Board of Governors. Any tuition change is applicable to all enrolled students. Tuition rates do not become official until the annual budget is passed by the legislature and signed by the governor.
When evaluating how to pay for a doctoral degree program, students often explore a number of resources, including tuition assistance from employers, scholarships, and student loan programs. Students may be eligible to pursue the following financing options:
Provide up to $20,500 per academic year to eligible U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Cover costs exceeding Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan limits up to the Cost of Attendance budget determined by the school. This is a credit-based loan for eligible U.S. citizens or permanent residents who do not have an adverse credit history.
Many employers offer tuition benefits, including tuition reimbursement and low-cost loans. Students should check with their employers’ personnel or human resources division regarding tuition.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs administers a variety of education benefit programs for those applicable.
These may be available to students who meet their chosen lending institution’s credit-based eligibility requirements. For additional financial assistance, research other education loan lenders to determine if a private loan is best for your situation.
