Coding Bootcamp Online Curriculum

The Coding Boot Camp at UNC-Chapel Hill covers the critical skills required for full stack web development. The curriculum starts with computer science fundamentals and then dives into front end and back end technologies.

Each week, you’ll dedicate four hours to scheduled in-class time and 20-plus hours to self-paced learning and hands-on projects. At the end of this intensive program, you’ll graduate with an impressive portfolio of projects, a wide set of technical skills and the ability to apply them anywhere.

UPGRADE YOUR CODING SKILLS

You will develop expertise in the following areas:

  • Computer science applied to JavaScript
  • Browser-based technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap)
  • Server-side development (MERN stack, template engines)
  • Databases (MySQL, MongoDB)
  • API design (API, JSON, AJAX)
  • Supplemental self-study (Python, Java, C#, Amazon Web Services)

Learning web development requires hours of hard work—we’re looking for passionate, committed applicants who are determined to achieve life-changing results.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS:

To qualify for admission, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED
  • Pass a critical thinking and problem-solving assessment

No prior coding experience is required. While some background knowledge is helpful, no experience is needed as long as you are eager to learn. Our pre-course tutorials will help you prepare.
